About
Seventh Town is a Canadian acoustic Celtic folk band based in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The group features Martin Smit (guitar, vocals), Meghan Balogh (fiddle, vocals), Trisha Elliott (vocals, tin and low whistles), and Fraser Hardman (bass, vocals).
Formed in 2008, Seventh Town has performed at concerts, historic events, Irish céilí dances, wineries, festivals, fundraisers, and private functions across eastern Ontario. Their music draws from traditional and contemporary Irish, Scottish, and Canadian folk traditions, blending reels, jigs, and folk songs with warm arrangements and snug harmonies.
The band tailors its repertoire to suit a wide range of events, including historic programs, East Coast–themed gatherings, and seasonal celebrations. They also offer featured and seasonal shows such as Robbie Burns Night, St. Patrick’s Day, and Celtic Christmas.
In addition to Seventh Town’s performances, Martin and Meghan also provide fiddle and piano accompaniment for Irish céilí dances in eastern Ontario, performing alongside uilleann piper Ian Leslie as part of regional traditional dance events.
“These musicians are the real deal — Canadian traditional music at its finest!”
